NESG FAULT TIMING OF CYBER SECURITY LEVY, SAYS NIGERIANS BATTLING HIGH FOOD PRICES.

The Nigerian economic summit group (NESG) as faulted the timing of the introduction of the 0.5% cyber security level on electronic transaction recently introduced by the central bank of Nigeria (CBN). In a statement on Thursday, NESG ask the federal government to reconsider the levy as Nigerians are currently groaning under multiple taxation and inflationary pressures. The Nigeria economic summit group said “amidst the cost of living crisis exacerbated by rising inflation, the cyber security level is mistimed”, considering the high rate of financial exclusion and increase currency on circulation.

EKSG, CAVISTA HOLDING SIGN MULTIBILLION NAIRA MOU TO BOOST CASSAVA FARMING

Ekiti State Government on Wednesday 8^th may 2024 took a significant step towards agricultural transformation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a leading Nigerian investment company Cavista Holdings (Owners of Agbeyewa farms LTD) to establish a state of the art cassava farm spanning 100,000hec within the state. The MOU which is worth billions of naira was sign by governor Oyebanji and chairman of Cavista Holdings, Niyi John Olaide on the side lines of the 2024 US. The duke and duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will land in Nigeria today, for a three day private visit. Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria on the invitation of the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa to interact with wounded soldiers. The DHQ sport director noted that the visit slated from 10^th to 13^th may 20024 will help the wounded soldiers in their recovery effort. Prince Harry Meghan arrive Nigeria today.
